From Thursday 2nd August to Sunday 12th August 2007 Geneva hosts a
festival known as Fêtes de Genève. There will be 64 fairground
activities around the lakefront, 120 stands with culinary specialities and
wafting aromas from all over the world, 25 handicrafts stands, and Geneva wines.
Also from 2-12 August, the Scène des Clubs runs free concerts - 10 concert
platforms and theme areas around the lakefront with almost 120 concerts and
shows. The festival begins with the concert of Floyd Legend on
3rd August. On 5th August two events are worth visiting –

slowUp Fêtes de Genève in the morning and Fête de la Rade - Sprint Cup at 2 pm.
The last day of the festival is marked with Parade de l’Elégance and Course des
Garçons de Café. Parade de l’Elégance is an exclusive defile of "Classic Car"
along the lake. More than 30 vehicles are to take part. Course des Garçons de
Café is the race where only waiters participate. It’s organized in collaboration
with Société des Cafetiers, Restaurateurs et Hôteliers de Genève and take place
on Gustave-Ador embankment. More than a hundred participants are expected.
