Jul 20 2007 German consulting company, Kemper’s, has published a list of the
most popular shopping streets in 156 German cities. It turned out that Germans
prefer doing their shopping on Schildergasse, Cologne, with a turnover of 14 265
potential buyers per hour. In the second place is the Kaufingerstrasse in
Munich, which has the turnover of 14 010 people per hour. The third place is
occupied by a popular Zeil boulevard in Frankfurt-on-Main, 13 950 visitors per
hour. According to the survey, 20 of the most popular streets are located in
Western Germany. In Eastern Germany (former GDR) the leader is Leipzig and its
Peterstrasse which took the 21st place of the total rating. The other
huge city in this region, Dresden, got the 32nd place. Fourth and
fifth place belong to Stuttgart and Hamburg. |
