Recently there was an agreement signed between Hilton
Hotels Corporation and the Millennium Holdings Ltd – the property developer in
Bangladesh, according to which new hotel will be built in Dhaka by 2009. The new
property will be called Hilton Dhaka and will actually be one of the best city
hotels, offering its guests 250 spacious bedrooms, 50 high-quality residences
and 6 contemporary restaurants and bars, including the ones opened 24 hours a
day. In addition to this, there will be recreational facilities functioning,
such as health club, tennis courts, swimming pool, exceptional conference
facilities and meeting rooms with all modern equipment. According to Koos
Klein, President of Hilton International, Middle East and Asia Pacific, building
of the Dhaka Hilton hotel is connected with rapid development of the area as an
important garment manufacturing capital, which attracts a lot of business people
to the city. Moreover, the agreement signifies Hilton’s expansion in the Asia
Pacific region. The hotel will be conveniently located not far from main
transportation routes and only 18 km from the Zia International Airport, which
makes it even more attractive for tourists.
