Ten more hotels got five-diamond AAA awards
Nov 1 2006
Every year several hotels and restaurants are included in the AAA (American Automobile Association) diamond rating which is the guarantee for quality and high level of service. This year, the list of AAA five diamond properties was supplemented with ten new lodgings as well as six new eating places, which means that now there will be as many as 93 hotels and 58 restaurants in this list. Now these properties will be listed in the association’s 2007 TourBook guides and on AAA official web site. The honor of having AAA status is given only to the 60.000 properties on the territory of the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Previously, several hotels got the five diamond awards, including Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, Ojai, California, Four Seasons Hotel Miami, The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation, Greensboro, Ga., Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole - Teton Village in Wyoming and others. Some of the lodgings managed to maintain their five-diamond status for nearly 31 years (such as Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Arizona and The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado) whereas the others lost this status and got less diamonds (for instance, Mandarin Oriental in Miami). Chicago is the leader as having the largest number of five-diamond hotels – there are seven of them in the city.
