Mar 21 2007 British hotel chain, Travelodge, offers its guests a special “Cuddillow”
that is a special comfort for those who are not used to sleeping alone. This
pillow, which is approximately 1 meter long, has two “arms”, for the hotel
guests to fall into. The innovation is being tested in a number of hotels in
different regions of Britain, including Newcastle, Durham, Manchester, Leeds and
Birmingham. The idea for this invention came to the chain’s administration mind
when there were the results of a special research published. According to
an opinion poll, 63 per cent of all the people questioned said that they need
someone to embrace when sleeping. Three of five people feel lonely when sleeping
without their partner, 16 % of the British solitary travellers have sleeping
problems for the same reason while 9 % of them are afraid of sleeping alone.
Wayne Munnelly, Travelodge Sleep Director commented that it is a kind of a “hug
to help you to get a good night sleep". |
